Supply chain survivability in crisis times through a viable system perspective: Big data, knowledge ambidexterity, and the mediating role of virtual enterprise

Authors: Saide Saide

Abstract:

In the context of the survivability of a firm’s supply chain during the worldwide COVID-19 crisis, there is still much to be explored. This study employs the viable system model to conceptualize the virtual enterprise, big data, and knowledge ambidexterity capability that can facilitate supply chain survivability. Empirical data have been collected from various industries in Indonesia (the largest labor force in Southeast Asia). SEM-SmartPLS and SPSS were used to validate the model. The results suggest that firms need to realize that the explorative and exploitative of knowledge have different effects and are integrated in different ways into the survivability of a supply chain. The findings also revealed two roles for mediation, whereby revolutionizing the explorative of knowledge and the analytics of big data through virtual enterprise are crucial strategies to achieves the survivability of the supply chain. A novel value added is the inclusion of a systems-environment perspective and knowledge-technology matrix, especially in times of crisis.

Positioning the Knowledge Creation and Business Strategy on Banking Industry in a Developing Country

Authors: Saide Saide (correspondences), Meng Miao

Abstract:

This article aims to align business strategy and knowledge creation in banking industry through knowledge management (KM) approach by maximizing the tangible and intangible resources. Prior study offered more general context of KM approach while misplaced and less discussed practical process of knowledge sharing practices in the context of banking industry. We developed research model by focusing on banking organization, especially in a developing country. The authors use literature review and document analysis of business strategy in bank. This article integrated and analyzed knowledge gap and business strategy to develop a comprehensive approach for banking company. The gap between what a bank knows and needs to know is an internal knowledge gap, in a sense representing the strengths and weaknesses of a “the alignment between knowledge–business” analysis. The gap between what they know and what its competitors know is an external knowledge gap. It represents the opportunities and threats of a knowledge–business analysis. In addition, there is still no specific team, department, and strategy to manage knowledge assets. The results of this research may help finance companies and managers to initiate KM or to encourage knowledge sharing in banking organization. Therefore, managerial level is supposed to develop a strategy and regulation to encourage employee's participation in knowledge transfer schema. We combined numerous methods and theories namely Zack and Nonaka models as tools to solve the obstacle of alignment between business-knowledge strategic gap and knowledge sharing schema.

Information system and behavioural intention: evaluating the user behaviour of financial information system in developing country of Indonesia

Authors: Idria Maita, Saide Saide (correspondences), Yelia Gusti Putri, Megawati Megawati, & Medyantiwi Rahmawita Munzir

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the dimensions (e.g., facilitating conditions (FC), performance expectancy (PE), effort expectancy (EE) and social influence (SI)) that influence behavioural intentions in financial institution in Indonesia. This research explores both the practical and theoretical basis of these paradigms. Studying the literature explores a theoretical existence of related context preceding the user behaviors. In addition, SPSS was used to measure demographic and generate descriptive statistics. Overall, the results demonstrate that behavioural intention (BI) was significantly influenced by FC, while PE and SI were marginally supported, and EE was not significant. It is acknowledged that FC is important incentives to necessitate action of user behavioural. The findings of this study may help institution and financial department to initiate new strategies such as integrating the dimensions of user experience on information system based on various indicators of this study. Additionally, to maximize the usage of information system, the institution can implement training for the employee concerning how to use the system. Further research may extend the focus to multiple organisations, cultures, and countries. This research is useful for institutions and academics as the comparative and intersecting explanation of enhancing user’s usage of information system in Indonesia.
